SYNOPSIS
This six episode premium documentary series takes us inside the lives of the world’s ultra wealthy and looks at their relationship to the growing problem of inequality.

The London episode examines the impact on British society of the increasing accumulation of wealth by a small percentage of the population. Through interviews with John Caudwell, Mohamed Amersi, Gary Stevenson and survivors of the Grenfell fire, the episode looks at the corrupting effect of this wealth transfer and whether British society has become more unequal.

The Beirut episode focuses on Lebanon’s current economic crisis and how the country’s unique, sectarian system of governance may be a factor in its current dysfunction.

Filmed in the run up to the presidential election, the Beirut episode mixes verité scenes in parliament and interviews with the political and financial elite such as former warlord Samir Geagea and banker Marwan Kheireddine. To understand the impact of the financial collapse, the episode also features the tragic stories of the people bearing the brunt of this economic meltdown.
